Criminal Defense - Alcohol Violations

Every year, the legislature changes laws relating to crimes involving alcohol. At Hendren Andrae, LLC, we strive to keep abreast of these changes so our clients receive the best defense possible. Alcohol-related driving offenses can result in a jail or prison sentence and a suspended or revoked driver's license. We represent our clients in both criminal and administrative hearings and trials related to Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) arrests, Driving With Excessive Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) arrests, Minor in Possession (MIP) arrests, Zero Tolerance arrests and Abuse and Lose arrests.

If you have been arrested on one or more of these charges, then you should contact an attorney as soon as possible. You probably have two separate legal proceedings happening at the same time. On one hand, the Missouri Department of Revenue is probably taking steps to suspend or revoke your license. Generally, you have a right to a hearing before the Department of Revenue (DOR) can suspend or revoke your driver's license, but you have to take action to request this hearing and your time to do that is limited.

The other legal proceeding, of course, is the criminal case. The criminal case can result in a jail sentence, a fine, and points on your license. Political and social pressures on prosecutors and judges have made the hazards associated with alcohol-related driving offenses more serious than those of 5 years ago. Multiple alcohol-related driving offenses can result in a felony charge or even an enhanced felony in which the minimum prison term is 5 years or more. If you are charged with a DWI or similar crime, you need an attorney who has the technical and practical experience to identify and assess defenses and advise you as to your rights. You can find that attorney at Hendren Andrae, LLC.

Our attorneys include a former assistant county prosecutor, a former municipal prosecutor and two former municipal judges. We have extensive experience in advising, representing and defending clients who are under suspicion for or charged with a violation of criminal law at either the municipal, state or federal level. Our representation often includes the filing and arguing of motions to suppress evidence, motions for bills of particulars, motions for change of judge, motions for change of venue, motions to set aside convictions, motions to withdraw pleas and motions for early discharge from probation. We have also represented those seeking pardons from the Governor.

If you are looking for advice or representation in a criminal matter, you should call our toll-free telephone number at 1-888-886-6529 and ask to speak to Drew Schauffler.
