Admitted to bar, 1972, Missouri; U.S. District Court, Western District of Missouri; 1989, US Supreme Court, Law Clerk to Chief Justice James A. Finch, Jr., Supreme Court of Missouri, 1972-1973. Assistant Attorney General of Missouri, 1973-1974.

Mr. Brownlee has served as corporate and legislative counsel for State Farm Insurance Companies for nearly 30 years. In addition, he has provided corporate legal services to the insurance industry in matters dealing with market conduct exams, reorganizations and acquisition, complaint matters and agency issues. He has provided corporate legal services to the following Trade Associations in the State Capitol. Associated General Contractors of Missouri (AGC), Missouri Limestone Producers Association, Missouri Bankers Association, Associated Industries of Missouri, Missouri State Chamber of Commerce, Missouri Telecommunications Association and Missouri School Boards Association.
